When Rune was in need of a way to provide for his family, some sketchy people approached him with an offer he couldn't refuse, because when he tried, they threatened everyone he cared about. So, he's been gone from home for five years, missing his family everyday. Even writing to them was too risky. Then when he's sent to a tiny village in the South to steal a witch's notebook, he hadn't expected to be caught by a grumpy werewolf. But maybe this wolf could be his ticket to freedom.

Enjoy Rune being a flirty shit, from book 1, chapter 3:

“I guess you’re as lonely as me, then,” said Rune.
Hyde looked back up, Rune was grinning. He breathed out a chuckle. “I guess so. I hadn’t spoken to a guy my age in years.”
“Since you got here?”
“Yeah. Almost everyone here is elderly. And whoever are my age are all women,” he finished, sounding more bitter than he’d meant to.
That amused eyebrow went up again. “You don’t like women?”
Hyde’s shoulders shot up, he felt his cheeks warm slightly. “I—I didn’t mean like—”
“Calm down, wolf,” Rune chuckled. “I’m taking the piss.”
Wolf?
He lifted his chin off the bar. “But just saying, if I were right.” Rune grinned. “We may have similar tastes.” He winked.
What—o-okay. Hyde didn’t know what to do with that. That wink.
Rune tilted his head. “Lost for words?”
“Uh.” Hyde rubbed the back of his neck. “Sorry, I haven’t talked about things like that before. Except once, kind of.” But did that time really count?
“Oh, so you have questioned before?” Rune was enjoying this way too much.
Hyde let out a deep sigh. “I guess you could call it that.”
Rune chuckled. “Well, hypothetically, you’d be very much appreciated in certain circles.”
Was that… a compliment? “Thank—you?” He wasn’t sure what it meant.
Rune gave him a smirk.

Development history

• First drawing: April 2018
• Originally meant to be a side character and not romatically tied to anyone. That didn't last long, same as Hyde.
• His first sketch had his earring, and then I forgot about it for months until I looked at that sketch again.
