How I Publish
These are the different ways I share (or plan to share) my stories:
- Free, not fully polished version online on RoyalRoad and Inkitt with no art (and one I'm planning to only put on Ao3, because I think the audience is best for it there)
- (Planned) Slightly more polished version with line-art-only art on this site
- Ebook on KDP/Amazon (mostly against impersonation)
- Paperback on KDP/Amazon (to get the free ISBN, so people can review it. ISBNs are insanely expensive in my country)
- (Planned) Same ebook on Ko-fi shop, directly from me (I get to keep all the profit and none goes to Amazon 😁. Plus, you get to keep the file forever and nothing can touch it. a.k.a DRM-free.)
- (Planned, maybe) Paperback and Hardcover sold via Ko-fi through BookVault (or another service). This wouldn't be ideal, because I would have to fulfil orders manually and because of shipping costs, I probably wouldn't be able to sell outside Europe without insane prices. But if you want one and are willing to pay the shipping, you could email me and I'll let you know how much the shipping would be.
The biggest reason I do physical copies at all is because I love them. I'm not expecting anyone to buy them, I just want my own pretty versions of my own books on my own shelf. If there's anyone else who loves them enough to also want them, then that's a nice bonus.
Why do I release for free? I don't want to paywall my work completely, I want people to be able to enjoy the stories and characters regardless whether they can afford to buy it or not. Support is optional, for both of us. I don't finacially rely on this and don't ever plan to. I don't need the money, so you don't need to pay me. But the Ko-fi button is always there 😛
