Why I picked it up: This was one of the main books I wanted when I ordered my first 5 from the publisher, because I had known her art for a while and really liked it, and saw myslef in it a little.

Overall opinion: So far, I think Gretel is the artist I have the most in common with. The style, characters, interest in mermaids, loves markers and digital but also uses watercolour,
big focus on line art. It feels like she’s the type of artist I could become eventually. The biggest thing I had in common with Yana, or Cosmic spectrum, was the love of storytelling.
And as much as I love her art, her techniques don’t really speak to me. Gretel’s techniques feel like they’re way more my thing.
